DISCIPLINE ON THE WORK The process begins when he finds trees or destroyed trunks, it is very important for Miguel Martino to build with recuperated wood´s, this has a special sense in his scupture expressions
He cuts and smells the woods and start to dicover its interior: colour, stripes, hardness, texture and perfume, wich is so special because it identifies the different types of woods.
With previous designs he joins the first pieces to raise the sculpture
Once finished the frame-work he starts to remove excess of wood.
Miguel says some parts have to be lengthly sandpapered, but others might show the rustic felling of the saw or ax blow. Even though there is a figure that prevails, he tries to rescue those destruction marks as burns, cuttings, wood borers, etc. To finish his work, previous insect treatment, he applies one coat of special oil, wax and luster on another to preserve the material and bounce its beauty.
A logistic plan is required to move the finished work to the desirable place
Once the work is physically placed, people´s contac will give a new reading of the sculpture, given by their different interpretations.
